About Me

My name is Dr Monika Wieliczko and I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. I feel passionate about supporting my clients and privileged to be a part of their journey. Psychotherapy profession is way more than just a job to me. I think of it more as a philosophy of life as it holds some core values which I stand by in my life: honesty, compassion and authenticity. These values help me create a therapeutic space where it is possible to feel supported and challenged at the same time. I believe that both ingredients are necessary for a therapist to be helpful to their clients. I try to keep an open mind and help my clients think for themselves rather than offering solutions as I do not claim to be an expert on their lives.

I also know what it’s like to be in your position since as part of my training and ongoing development I have been through an intense psychoanalysis to help me grow and develop as a persona and as a therapist.

On a professional note, I have worked within the NHS as well as private and charitable organizations in the UK since 2011. I have trained at various universities across the UK and Poland and I have completed my doctoral studies at the Canterbury Christ Church University. You can find out more about my professional profile here.

Apart from running my private practice I also work part-time in a secondary care mental health service in South East London where I specialise in helping people with complex mental health presentations including depression, anxiety, trauma and personality disorders.

I am also a visiting lecturer at The Institute of Psychiatry in London delivering teaching for trainee clinical psychologists.

My research interests involve the application of psychedelic substances, in particular MDMA, in psychotherapy treatment of various mental health problems.
